You know I just read a really good post about blogging and it got me thinking. As you know I have been not feeling the blogging bug anymore. The reason is because I lost my old blog the blog I put my heart and soul into, the blog that has all my posts for the almost 10 years, I have been blogging. It shows my growth as an fledgling artist. How I have improved and grown. I loved that old blog. Now I have this one no readers to speak off except my faithful friends . Should I care that no one reads this blog no. But I do, maybe people don't read my blog because I don't really have exciting stuff to share maybe. I do live quite a quiet life. I do have a Facebook page and now a Instagram page but it's not my blog. I can't tell them what I tell you, how I'm feeling ,what iam cooking, what I am reading. So I have decided it's time for me to go after more readership there not coming to me I am going too them. I am not closing down I am not going to go without a fight. I am going to be visible , get my art out there. This blog is going to be me telling you the same things ,but I am gonna introduce new people I find , new techniques, how I do stuff , what's in my purse. how I organized my cupboard. you might not be interested but I am going to tell you anyway. It's time to ramp it up for awhile see how I do and then if all the work I put in does not work then and only then is it time to throw in the towel. Now you my dear friends who have never left me tell me what you think.
Lee
I read your blog, Aunty!

I'm glad you're not giving up your blog. I am not on instagram but I don't think it can replace a blog. I have noticed that you don't have google friend connect on this blog. Maybe it would help attract more followers than follow by email. Can you get access to your old blog? If so you could create a link to your new one to help people find you.
ReplyDeleteOh it's so hard to type into the void of the internet. I was so glad you let me know about your new blog. I have lost other people I follow to blog failure, and it was hard to track them down. I would be so sad if you stopped blogging, but I don't leave a lot of comments, so you should do what works for you. It's hard to start anew - the last couple years it's my brain that's needed a reboot several times, but we're out here, cheering for you.
ReplyDeleteI have been going through the same anguish over my blog...and I came to the same conclusion you did! I don't want to give up on my blog. I've had it since 2006 and I'm not quitting yet. Like you, I lead a quiet life and I don't always have anything to talk about each day. Maybe I'll try something like you're doing and just talk about every day things. I'm so happy that you're not quitting either. Let's hang in there together and maybe we can help each other out. I would miss you very much if you weren't blogging.
ReplyDeleteHello Lee, you know I really enjoy your blog, your art and your writing about what you are doing, tales of activity with the hubster and the shopper, links to other blogs and so forth.
ReplyDeletePlease hang in there.
Instagram is fine, but it is not so friendly and descriptive as a blog can be.
Yes, do add a Google Friend gadget as FF above suggests, but you also know the secret to getting more visitors, I've mentioned it before, and it does work.
