be happy with what you have

No matter how old I am it seems I always want more.
But I think everyone always a little more, money, talent, etc.
But lately I have been reflecting on my life and
decided I should be happy with what I have.  I have
so many gifts in my life and with that I mean
people, who love me. And I have relatively good health.
That's all you really need (okay you need some money)
but as you get older you need your health.  I have
a friend of 50 years, yes 50 years and that friend
has been ill the last 20 of them, and I don't mean
a little ill but really ill.  But you know what she
has tried to make the best of the life she has.  So
be happy with the life you have.

  1. Now that I've found your new blog, apparently I have things to say. See that's what happens. THings get stirred up. But about this appreciating what you have - YES - the last five or six years have been one health snafu after another. This spring I hit a kind of low point. I'm not sure if I"m out of it yet, but having myself over accept how things are, I"m getting readily to move on. I'm not sure what that shape will take, but I'm getting my ducks in a row. There are just too many startlingly beautiful moments. Like the hummingbird at my feeder today. Appreciate each and every opportunity, and then make some up.

  2. Yes and yes.... good for you!! Love your girl too!!
